Community Standards

PayBru is built on the relationship between creators and their supporters. These community standards ensure the platform remains a positive, trustworthy space for everyone.

For Creators

Creators on PayBru are expected to:

  • Deliver on promises: If you offer specific benefits for a membership tier, provide them consistently. Members are paying for the value you describe.
  • Communicate openly: Keep your members informed about schedules, delays, or changes to your content or tiers.
  • Respect your audience: Engage with members respectfully, even when handling criticism or disagreements.
  • Create original content: Only publish content you have the right to share. Do not use copyrighted material without permission.

For Members

Members on PayBru are expected to:

  • Engage respectfully: Treat creators and fellow members with courtesy in comments, messages, and community spaces.
  • Use the platform honestly: Do not share, redistribute, or resell creator content that is behind a membership tier.
  • Report, don't retaliate: If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these standards, use the reporting tools rather than engaging directly.

Community Moderators

Creators can appoint moderators to help manage their communities. PayBru provides a structured role-based permission system to ensure moderators have the right level of access.

Moderator Roles

Each community member with moderation responsibilities is assigned one of the following roles:

RoleDescription
OwnerFull control over the community, including billing, payouts, and all settings.
AdministratorBroad management access across most community functions.
ModeratorFocused permissions for day-to-day community management.

Granular Permissions

Each role can be configured with specific permissions tailored to the community's needs:

  • CanManageMembers: Add, remove, or manage community members.
  • CanManageContent: Approve, edit, or remove posts and comments.
  • CanManageInvites: Create and manage invitation links for new members.
  • CanManageSettings: Modify community settings and configuration.
  • CanViewAnalytics: Access community analytics and performance data.
tip

Assign the minimum permissions each moderator needs. This keeps your community secure while still distributing the workload.

Moderator Invitations

When inviting a new moderator, PayBru generates a unique invitation token. Moderator invitations expire after 7 days. If the invitation is not accepted within that window, the creator will need to send a new one.

Content Moderation

PayBru includes built-in tools to help keep community content safe and appropriate:

  • Automatic profanity detection: Content is scanned for profanity with configurable severity levels, allowing communities to set their own tolerance thresholds.
  • Spam detection: Automated checks flag repetitive or suspicious content for review.
  • Approval workflow: Flagged content enters an approval or rejection workflow, giving moderators control over what appears in their community.

Prohibited Content and Behaviour

The following are not permitted on PayBru:

  • Hate speech, harassment, or threats directed at any user.
  • Content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.
  • Fraud, scams, or deliberately misleading membership offerings.
  • Spam, including repetitive unsolicited messages or promotions.
  • Content that violates South African law.
  • Impersonation of other creators, brands, or individuals.
warning

Violations of these standards may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity. PayBru reviews all reports and takes action in accordance with these guidelines.

Discord Ban Sync

For communities that integrate with Discord, PayBru automatically syncs bans between platforms. Bans are synchronised every 5 minutes, ensuring that users banned from your Discord server are also restricted on PayBru, and vice versa.

Enforcement

PayBru reviews reported content and accounts on a case-by-case basis. Actions taken may include:

  1. A warning with guidance on the specific violation.
  2. Temporary suspension of the account or specific features.
  3. Permanent removal from the platform.

Creators and members may appeal enforcement decisions by contacting PayBru support with relevant context.
