How does PayBru integrate with Discord?
PayBru's Discord integration allows creators to grant their paying members automatic access to exclusive Discord roles and channels. When a member subscribes to a tier that includes Discord benefits, they are given the corresponding role in the creator's Discord server. Role changes sync within 5 minutes.
How do I connect my Discord account to PayBru?
Go to your PayBru account settings and look for the Discord connection option. Click Connect and authorise PayBru to link with your Discord account. You only need to do this once.
I connected my Discord but didn't get my role. What do I do?
First, make sure you have joined the creator's Discord server. The role is assigned automatically within 5 minutes, but only if you are a member of the server. If you have joined and more than 5 minutes have passed without receiving your role, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Discord account in your PayBru settings. If the issue persists, contact PayBru support.
Make sure you are connecting the same Discord account that is a member of the creator's server. Connecting a different account will not work.
How quickly do role changes take effect?
Role grants and revocations sync within 5 minutes. This applies to new subscriptions, cancellations, tier changes, and failed payments.
What happens to my Discord role if I cancel my membership?
When your membership ends (either by cancellation or non-renewal), your tier-linked Discord role is automatically removed within 5 minutes. You will lose access to any channels restricted to that role.
Can a creator assign Discord roles to multiple tiers?
Yes. Creators can map different Discord roles to different membership tiers. For example, a basic tier might grant access to a general members channel, while a premium tier unlocks additional exclusive channels.
Do I need to be a Discord server admin to set up the integration?
Creators need to have the appropriate permissions in their Discord server to add the PayBru bot and configure role mappings. Typically, server owner or administrator permissions are required.
Is the PayBru bot safe to add to my server?
Yes. The PayBru Discord bot only requests the permissions necessary to manage roles for your members. It does not read message content or access unrelated server data.
Can I use Discord integration without a paid tier?
The Discord integration is designed to work with membership tiers. If you have a free tier, you can still map a Discord role to it so that free members receive a role upon joining.
Make sure the PayBru bot's role is positioned above all managed roles in your Discord server's role hierarchy. This is required for the bot to assign and remove roles correctly and is the most common setup issue.
