Questions that members commonly ask about supporting creators on PayBru.

How do I subscribe to a creator?

Visit the creator's PayBru page, browse their available membership tiers, and select the one that suits you. Complete the payment process via Paystack, and you'll have immediate access to the benefits of that tier - including members-only posts, events, and Discord roles.

What can I do as a member?

As a PayBru member, you can:

  • Browse community posts: access blog posts, images, videos, audio, and polls based on your membership tier.
  • Attend events: RSVP to virtual events (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Discord) and physical events.
  • Shop the store: purchase digital and physical products from the creator's store.
  • Send tips (Brus): tip creators using the Brus system (1 Bru = R50), publicly or anonymously as "Anonymous Bru", with an optional message.
  • Gift memberships: give a membership as a gift for 1–12 months. Gifts can be sent anonymously and the recipient has 30 days to accept.
  • Send direct messages: message creators privately.
  • Get Discord access: receive automatic role assignment in the creator's Discord server.

What payment methods are accepted?

PayBru processes payments through Paystack and accepts major credit and debit cards. All transactions are in ZAR. The available payment methods are displayed at checkout.

How do I cancel my membership?

Go to your account settings, find the Memberships section, and select the membership you want to cancel. Click Cancel Membership. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Cancelling a membership stops future charges but does not trigger an automatic refund for the current billing period.

Will I be charged automatically?

Yes. Memberships renew automatically at the start of each billing cycle. You will receive a notification before each renewal. You can cancel at any time to stop future charges.

Can I switch to a different tier?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your membership tier at any time from your memberships page. If you upgrade, you may be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.

How do I send a tip (Bru)?

Visit the creator's page and use the tipping feature. Each Bru is worth R50. You can send one or more Brus, include an optional message, and choose to tip publicly or anonymously (as "Anonymous Bru").

How do gift memberships work?

You can gift a membership to someone for 1–12 months. Choose the creator and tier, select the duration, and optionally send it anonymously as "Anonymous Bru". The recipient receives a notification and has 30 days to accept the gift. If not accepted within 30 days, the gift expires.

How do I get a receipt for my payment?

Receipts are available in your account under Billing History. Each transaction includes a downloadable receipt with the date, amount, and creator details.

What happens if my payment fails?

If a payment fails (for example, due to insufficient funds or an expired card), PayBru will notify you and may retry the payment. If the payment continues to fail, your membership access may be paused until the issue is resolved. Update your payment method in your account settings to fix this.

Can I support multiple creators?

Absolutely. You can subscribe to as many creators as you like. Each membership is managed independently in your account settings.
