Joining a Community

Subscribing to a creator's community on PayBru takes just a few minutes. All payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR) through Paystack.

Finding a Community​

There are two ways to reach a creator's PayBru page:

  • Direct link: The creator shares their PayBru URL (e.g. paybru.co.za/creatorname) on social media, YouTube, or Discord.
  • Invite link: Some creators send personalised invite links to their audience.

Choosing a Tier​

Most communities offer multiple membership tiers. Each tier has:

  • A price in ZAR (or may be free)
  • A description of what's included (e.g. exclusive posts, Discord roles, early access)
  • Subscription duration options: 1, 3, 6, or 12 months (depending on what the creator offers)
  • Any multi-month discounts the creator has configured
  • Any perks or benefits the creator has configured

Review the tiers on the creator's page and select the one that suits you.

Completing Payment​

  1. Click Join on your chosen tier.
  2. Sign in to your PayBru account (or create one if you haven't already).
  3. Select your subscription duration (if multiple options are available).
  4. Choose a payment method (all processed via Paystack):
    • Card - Visa or Mastercard (debit or credit)
    • Bank transfer / EFT - pay directly from your bank account
    • Mobile money - supported mobile money options
  5. Confirm the amount and complete the transaction.

All prices are displayed and charged in ZAR. Your first payment is processed immediately, and your membership renews monthly on the same date. Pending transactions expire after 30 minutes if not completed.

Gift Memberships​

Someone can gift you a PayBru membership:

  • Gift memberships can be purchased for 1 to 12 months.
  • The gifter can choose to remain anonymous (shown as "Anonymous Bru").
  • If you receive a gift membership, you have 30 days to accept it. If you don't accept or you decline, the purchase is automatically refunded to the gifter.

You can also purchase a gift membership for someone else from a creator's page.

After You Join​

Once payment is confirmed:

  • You gain immediate access to the community's member-only content.
  • If the creator has Discord integration enabled, you'll be prompted to connect your Discord account. Your member role is assigned automatically.
  • A receipt is sent to your email and available in your dashboard.

If your Discord role doesn't appear within a few minutes, check that you've connected the correct Discord account in your PayBru settings.
